Why I think all RD's should re-think the way they practice...

Did you know that insurance reimbursement for a single RD visit can be over $400?......

And that RD visits are limited to a set number of visits usually not permitted to be greater than once a month?....

And that in order to get a referral for the RD visits you usually have to have something else major going on or have a specific diagnosis to allow the visit?.....

THIS IS WHY I AM A COACH.

I get to provide DAILY dietitian services free of charge. The money you invest is not towards my time but rather an investment into yourself...it is towards a tangible product that you receive that acts like your text book during our challenge groups....it is a complete workout program that you can do from home...or on the road...or at the park...or the beach..or wherever your heart desires. Plus 30 meals that you don't have to plan...or think about...or even spend time prepping! THIS IS WHY CHALLENGE GROUPS ARE SO OUTRAGEOUSLY SUCCESSFUL.

Its not rocket science: its simple really. In my challenge groups, you get:1:1 dietitian help,  weekly menu planning support, daily tips/ encouragement/ accountability...plus a solid workout program and meal replacement shake that is crazy nutrient dense (I personally use it) and when it is all combined- it completely busts every excuse you could possibly think of to NOT get fit and eat healthy PLUS yields fabulous results- such as my own personal 93 pound weight loss.....THIS IS THE RECIPE FOR SUCCESS FOLKS.


We have known for years that support groups WORK. Look at weight watchers for example- it works! Why? because you get access to support groups and a program for proper nutrition. But what about fitness? that is a key component not to be over looked....

So you can go to a gym and hire a personal trainer and spend an average of $55/ month on your gym membership and $50 per hour of personal training, in addition to the support group fees (average $45/ month)....and then you get the complete package? Almost....what about lunch when your in a hurry?! grabbing lunch out and a bout averages $10 a day. Say you stop and grab a healthy salad from your favorite restaurant every day on your lunch...that adds up!!! Plus if you want to see a dietitian, thats a whole different ball park. Lots of time is spent traveling from here to there, taking time off work for appointments, rushing to get to the gym before they close, trying to find a sitter for the kids etc etc etc....it is seriously no wonder people give up so easily and are constantly looking for an alternative solution. We already live busy lives with limited time on our hands, do we really need that much added stress??? Research shows that gym memberships grow, so does the obesity epidemic.....

Somethings not working here.

I am a numbers person so I sketched out the cost comparison of conventional weight loss methods vs online challenge groups. The end results are pretty shocking as far as the money saved!!! These numbers INCLUDE lunch (shakeology on the go!)

Challenge groups seriously bust the excuses. Can't find someone to watch your kids? no worries! its all done on YOUR time. You might have to make the sacrafice of getting up before everyone or going to bed a tad later to get your workout in but at least you can do it from home without having to drag the whole family out of the house or use time as an excuse. Can't take time off work for a dietitian appointment? (when I worked in the clinic my hours were from 8am-11am)...no biggie- again its on your time.

And not just that- you get DAILY motivational nudges to keep your focus where it should be and to keep pushing towards your goals!!!! DAILY. Yep...you simply can't get that from conventional methods.

Also, lets talk about Shakeology......

You see, in the clinic, I can only offer nutrition advice and only once a month and only for those who qualify according to insurance terms. The patients are left on their own to figure everything else out. I can give tips on increasing physical activity, but there are no programs and schedules with a solid proven structure that I can provide like I do in my challenge groups.

I want to challenge everyone to re-thing traditional and start thinking outside the box. Especially dietitians since I now know from personal experience how powerful alternative methods can be and how many more lives I can change. That is, afterall, the reason I chose to become an RD in the first place!!!!
